Peace Rose
My lovely wife assures me this is called a Peace Rose. With the slight drop of rain today, I couldn't resist taking a photo.
Günter Klaus, Lian, Marco F. Delminho, Guydel and 35 other people have particularly liked this photo

IT WAS GROWN ON AFTER THE END OF WW 1 ... IT WAS MEANT TO BE A MEMORIAL TRIBUTE TO ALL THOSE WHO HAD DIED IN THE WAR.
WE ALWAYS HAD ONE IN OUR GARDENS IN THE UK !
IT WAS BRED BY FRANCIS MEILAND OF THE FAMOUS "MEILAND" ROSE GROWING FAMILY.
HE ALSO HAD THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ROSE.. AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE "PAPA MEILAND " NAMED AFTER HIM. IT IS A BLOOD RED VELVET HYBRID TEA ROSE, WE ALSO HAD ONE ALWAYS IN OUR GARDEN IN THE UK !!
I used to have the Peace Rose and I'm sure your wife is right.
Take care & best wishes to you both.
Take care and stay safe.
Stay safe, both of you, and stay well!
You've photographed it beautifully!
