One of my favourite areas, the Warrumbungle National Park, viewed from the platform alongside the AAO telescope (see previous images). The National Park covers a little over 23,000 hectares and features the remains of a large shield volcano that was 50 km wide when it erupted 13-17 million years ago. Erosion has left a variety of bluffs, domes and dykes. The area is very popular for bushwalking and climbing. See notes and view large. HFF.
