part of the tomb of sir richard atkins, +1689, by william stanton. these are the atkins children, this section erected c.1680, before his death. the whole tomb spent more than 100 years buried in a vault after the old church was demolished; now the figures languish in a side room of the church with plaster saints, chairs and even an old bed for company. they deserve better.
