entrance to the early c17 riche family chapel, the date 1607 remaining on the old top of the remade door. the guildhall opposite served as a school for hundreds of years, hence the graffiti cut into the clunch: presumably the stones were turned round during some restoration. this clunch mayhave originated at leez priory, the home of the riche family after the dissolution.
