Is Hatters Lane named because of an industry that was once thriving there?
A fresh view of Dumbarton Rock between the buildings. Good shot Joe.
Cheers, Rosa.

It is named after A.J. Cronin's novel, "Hatter's Castle", Rosa, which is set in Dumbarton. In the novel, Dumbarton was called Levenford. The real hatter's business was located in the High Street. It was called, 'McPherson the Hatter'. I remember it well. The shop is still there, but is no longer a hatters. A.J. Cronin was born in Cardross and lived in Dumbarton. The house is still there. Thanks for your very kind comment. Cheers, Joe
