Lots of Barnhills in Scotland. I think it is an anglicization of the Gaelic Barr-na coille , which describes a wooded hill. If this is so, it is a very accurate description of the Dumbarton Barnhill. Thanks for your good wishes, Amelia. Cheers, Joe
