Café Puusti
Heatwave hit Finland. It is +30℃ (+86℉) outside, which is why it is much more comfortable to sit in a cool café. Close to Sorsapuisto park in Tampere is this nice little Café Puusti. It has been there over three years, and I have walked by it on my way to work almost every day. But now it was the first time I visited there.
The style of decoration was so called "Piika ja Renki" -style. There once was a pub, which owner brought the style into Tampere pub and café genre. Somewhat all tables, chairs and dishes are a mismatch, and looks old. Tabletops does not have to look like just painted, but the surface is scratched. And yet the place is tidy and clean.
Mugs in the picture are by Arabia. On the left is Heikki Orvola's Bebop, and on the right is Esteri Tomula's Pastoraali.
Coffee served there was roasted by a small Kaffa Roastery from Helsinki. And it tasted heavenly with chocolate ice cream made by 3 Kaveria, also from Helsinki.
Well, the main delicacy at Café Puusti of course is "korvapuusti", which is a cinnamon roll. But that would taste better in much cooler weather.
