Vladimir Iljitš Lenin
We have something very unique and rare here at Tampere, and that is Lenin Museum:
lenin.fi/?page_id=151&lang=en
One funny story I learned there is how V.I. Lenin went to local market place to eat black sausage (blood sausage), and it is claimed he said: "People who make such delicacy deserves to get independency!" Well, this story is maybe not entirely true, but I guess the support Lenin received from some Finnish individuals made him personally favorable to give recognition of independency to Finland:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_of_Finland#International_recognition
So, we Finns must say Lenin was a very important person to us =D
Collage made with Collage Maker Android application, and that is why there is no EXIF. All pictures taken on Saturday August 11, 2018. Permission to take pictures inside the museum was given by personnel.

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Chrissy clubWell, there are different opinions on why especially Lenin was favorable to give independence to Estonia, Finland and other small countries. One opinion is that he was just practical, thinking of resources, and hoped the revolution would then start within all of those countries anyway. Like the small countries would follow the example of progress in Russia.
Anyway, the picture we give of historical characters often changes when we read or hear some more personal detail about them. Although, even that can be used as a tool of propaganda ;-) History is a difficult subject. So much uncertainty... There are of course cold facts, but then there are tiniest details like personal letters and diaries, which may give some light on historical events, but they still are very subjective and maybe not entirely true.

It's like Robert E. Lee, many here only see his actions/accomplishments as a General in our Civil War. I have found that I am far more interested in his accomplishments after the Civil War, especially while he was President of the Washington & Lee University here in Lexington.
