Die Wiener Staatsoper, das „Erste Haus am Ring“, ist eines der bekanntesten Opernhäuser der Welt. Sie wurde am 25. Mai 1869 eröffnet. Bereits Ende 1861 begann der Bau nach Plänen der Architekten August Sicard von Sicardsburg und Eduard van der Nüll im Stil der Neorenaissance, der insgesamt acht Jahre dauerte.
The Viennese State Opera, the "First House on the Ring", is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. It was opened on 25 May 1869. The construction began as early as the end of 1861 according to plans of the architects August Sicard von Sicardsburg and Eduard van der Nuell in the Neo-Renaissance style, which took a total of eight years.
