Martin EB-57A Canberra (8489)

Martin EB-57A Canberra (8489)
The Canberra was designed by English Electric Co. as a light tactical bomber for the Royal Air Force. Built under license by Martin, the U.S. version is the only non-U.S. design adopted for operational service since WWII. B-57s were sent to Vietnam in 1965 and used for daylight bombing, night interdiction and reconnaissance missions. This aircraft at Castle Air Museum was equipped for electronic reconnaissance and so designated as an EB-57. The Air National Guard operated EB-57s until 1982.
