Clovelly Harbour

Clovelly Harbour
Clovelly, North Devon, is a fishing village known for its cobbled streets and small harbour. The village is built into a cleft in a 400ft (122m) high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages to the tiny working port. It is famous for its donkeys, which traditionally carry goods up the hill; sledges bring things down. The first PiP shows The Red Lion Hotel on the harbour and the second PiP, a view across the houses on the way down.

Another superb series from this wonderfully photogenic village Rosa. The main image is a real cracker, the framing and composition are spot on. The scene beyond the arch has such a lot going on and the detail is excellent. The two supporting pictures are really fine compositions. I love the curve of the harbour wall, and the light on the water which brings the picture to life. The view from the fine cottage in the last PiP must be quite wonderful. Clovelly is certainly going on my wish list of places to visit, trouble is the list gets longer every day!

All the best, Doug

The arc creates a beautiful frame in the first image. In the second and third ones, stunning blue tones.
All the best
