A fascinating little series Rosa................I really like the main image - especially seeing those lovely costumes. Everyone does look a bit serious, but I think that was fitting for the wreath laying!

In the PiPs: I love the idea of an inflatable museum...........how funny! I've visited the museum a few times with my grandchildren. I'll have to come back when the refurbishment is complete :)

The dray horses are magnificent beasts..........and they (and their handlers) look splendid in their finery! A fantastic shot!

The man in red is the mayor but not sure who the others are. Probably council dignitaries. They did cheer up after laying the wreathes :)

I'm glad you like the intlatable museum. We thought it was great! They had some nice exhibits in there too. The Shire Hall Historic Courthouse is really good. You can take photos of any of your family in the dock or as the judge!!

The dray horses were beautiful. I don't know what you call the lady in front of them but they followed her hand instructions to turn around and stop in exactly the right spot.

My thanks as always for your very kind comments.

Bass have a pair of Shire Horses at Burton, when they were working a lot of the horses were quite capable of doing the round on there own, but not all were so well behaved I remember having to jump out of a farm cart when one managed to get the bit out of it's mouth

I used to lives near Devizes in Wiltshire Peter and they still use the dray horses around the town. Mostly gentle giants.....except the one you jumped out for ;-))

Estupendas fotografías, me gustan que se retraten lo que fuimos, con sus características. Es muy interesante, más viéndolo desde los que desconocen esa determinada cultura.

Thank you Doug. I took a few side pictures of the horses but I didn't like the big Argos and Ladbrook signs behind them :) Best wishes, Rosa.

Superb photos, Rosa! Gee, would you believe I had to read Thomas Hardy in school? Probably the last American generation to do so. I doubt they even read many old American novelists, now!

LOVE the inflatable library!

Thank you Diane. Pleased you like them. Would you believe, I was born and brought up in Dorset and never read a Hardy novel until I left school!!

We were hoping the inflatable was a bouncy castle inside ;-))
