crayon boxes (front) and crayons

Melted several remains of crayons to make big-round-mixed ones (for the two little daughters of a friend). Then decided to make the boxes too. They are made of kraft paper, gessoed and decorated with acrylic paint as base and glued colored papers for the figures.

crayon boxes (bottoms)

Got the idea for these two on the bottom, from a crafts for children book. At first they were the ones to go on top of the boxes but that first attempt failed and I had to rescue them, cut and glue them to the bottom.

Cross-over crafts

In January I was banned out of Facebook and since, I have realized the lot of time I wasted there. Some was useful not wasted, but very quickly one crosses to the other. I do a lot of different crafts I enjoy other than artistic, like preserving, cooking, loom-weaving, visible mending and now I learned coil basket weaving. It is wonderfully meditative and relaxing and has the advantage that I can listen to podcasts or documentaries, while weaving. Other advantages are, I reuse material (in the orange-black-one the coil is made with used surgical masks) and the baskets are functional of course.
