Oh, no!

Oh, no!
Juvenile fraternity homecoming float in 1968. It won the president's award for best use of crepe paper in the depiction of gratuitous female nudity. No, it won a serious reprimand, and a demand for a public apology to the student body and the citizens of the community. The excuse that the female was a mermaid and not a person only inflamed the dean's anger. Submitted to the Vintage Photos Theme Park for the theme, THINGS THEY WON'T LET US DO ANY MORE.

Haha---were you one of the creators of this float?

Hi, Ellie. I was not involved with the concept or design but I did have a hand in stuffing all the crepe paper into the chicken wire frame. I also rode in the car pulling the float, from which I took this snapshot. I confess that I did not see the harm in it at the time but do recognize it today. Color me awakened. :)
