Fawns

The first still-spotty fawns I've seen in my neighborhood in several years, and my first real picture with the new d7000. The image is a little soft, but that's just bad technique -- I was in a hurry and didn't check the settings.

Okay, Who's Been Messing With The Light Spectrum Again?

Testing out the newly-acquired d100 with Lifepixel IR conversion, using the Sigma 10-20 lens from my d80 (with no obvious vignetting, which is nice).

Backyard

More experimenting with the infrared d100. Still a little soft on the focus (need to work on the right offset), and in full color it seems to be more highly saturated in the center with the circular polarizer than it was without. Was going for long exposure here. Need to get an ND filter -- the d100 just can't go low enough for good long exposures, even at f22, ISO200, and -5 stops.

Focus Problems? What Focus Problems?

Tried using autofocus, and whaddya know? It works! Now to try a different lens, since further reading suggests the Sigma 10-20 is terrible in IR (despite being a great lens on a normal camera). Note the hotspot on the central pinecone. The subject here is a collection of pinecones in an orange Depression-glass bowl, sitting on a pale red (ie: not ruby red) glass plate.

Cobalt Glass Bowl

Using the Nikkor 18-135 lens. This bowl actually has a layer of cobalt blue glass on the outside, rendered clear by the IR.

Night Sky

Playing around with the new 50 f/1.4 lens and d7000. Not the greatest shot, but getting better.

Depth of Focus

Test shot with the new d7000 paired with a new Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 at full-open. Interesting.
