Road Trip: Day 3

The mound is the remains of a Settlement Age farmstead, which was buried by a volcanic eruption back in the day.

The gimmick is, if you put a stone on the mound, it will bring you good luck -- likewise making cairns, hence the great profusion of them on the level ground surrounding the mound.

I may have jinxed us here, as I took a rock off of a cairn and tossed it onto the mound -- which probably disrupted the juju of the place somehow and gave us bad luck instead...
