This black cloud suddenly appeared to the south, prompting a hasty retreat back to the jeep...from about 200 vertical feet below the summit. And we left none too soon, as we were chased down the lower meadow by lightning and thunder, making it back to the jeep at an all-out run just before a noachian rain opened up. You don't mess with storms in the mountains.
