Looks like a (yellow) beacon responsible for sending the train (here we have like rails) its speed instructions. But that's a professional deformation! As well as my inclination to always interpret even the most abstract of abstractions!
Which you have the art of extracting from your surroundings with great timing, Laura (even on a grey day ;). And in this context, who pays attention to a tiny plant, and notices that its vital determination contains that of the whole of nature? Well, you do. And you push our eyes, as often, to go beyond appearances and the superficial...
By the way: the graphic result is truly eye-catching!

You honor me, Eric. Thank you so much.

It is always my desire to see special things in the everyday. Sometimes it's easy to see that when one travels, but what about in our daily lives? I try to practise really looking every day.

The victory of the plant over the asphalt. Beautiful play of colors with well-seen symmetry.

I never fail to smile when I see a plant like this one. I wish I had the same determination in my life!

I really like your composition here Laura..............and the colours. Super detail too. It's amazing how nature finds a foothold in the most difficult environments. Long may it survive!

Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

Haha - indeed I do. Though around here, if I did that I would be a very rich woman as plants rule everywhere.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm really glad you like it.

A fine abstract, too. The yellow is particularly appealing as well (to me, at least).

My terrible eyes can't see a plant, but this minimalist, gritty shot is great!
raingirl club has replied to Diane Putnam club
Thanks, Diane. The plant is hard to see with good eyes! It's hiding and tiny - it's almost in the middle, at the edge of the red and the pavement just above the yellow. But I'm glad you like the minimalist nature of this photo - that's what it's really about anyway.

Nicely seen and photographed, Laura. It is amazing that plants can take hold and grow in the most difficult places. Doesn't matter if it's desert or rainforest, uou find them in unusual places.

To quote the late, great George Carlin: " I like it when a flower or a little tuft of grass grows through a crack in the concrete. It's so ******* heroic."

Beautiful geometry, Laura.
