Nîmes – Musée de la Romanité
Museum of Roman history in Nîmes dressed in a pleated glass toga.
Built for around 60 million euros, the museum was designed by the French-Brazilian architect Elizabeth de Portzamparc. It is located next to the world famous Roman Amphitheater. The outer façade of the museum, consisting of more than 6'000 glass squares, resembles an elaborately draped Roman toga in its wave-like structure.
The collection comprises about 25'000 works.
Opened on June 2, 2018.
