clothes parked 28 7 2018

clothes parked 28 7 2018
Staying away from home for a couple of nights, I had my camera in the bedroom and thought my clothes parked on a wicker chair overnight might make and interesting still-life. Actually they looked boring, so I cranked up Photoshop and this is one outcome. another is next door. Maybe they are still boring - but more colourful and the patterns and textures are more pronounced.

I would say that this one works the better of the two. They are both 'flatter' than a straight photo, something I have noticed in my own efforts at this kind of manipulation. Viewed large and full screen (23" monitor) the orange version is for me satisfyingly composed and includes some interesting textures. No, it makes you think and gives pleasure, so not boring!

Thanks for your comments, John. I am a very lazy photographer. I use my cameras without much technical skill, so I make use of Photoshop Elements to firstly make some improvements, which would probably be unnecessary if I used the cameras properly. Secondly I enjoy playing about with snaps I have taken that look a bit bland , like this one.
