The marbling is largely due to a Photoshop Elements effect called 'Paint daubs - sparkle'. which breaks the divisions between tones with ragged pale lines.
This mono version provides a great starting point for using Photoshop Elements 'gradients map', which takes all the different shades and applies sets of colours to them.

Funny but my abstract pictures seem to get into Explore more often than the rest.. Perhaps they are more original - or perhaps my computer skills are better than my photographic ones! Thanks for the compliment Jaap.
