Thanks, Denis. It isn't a crowded beach in high season, but from October to March it is very often as empty as this. Its shingle bank coastal defences aren't the most user friendly. You have to be reasonably fit to clamber down to the water's edge and back up. If you look to the far right of the photo you will see the profile of the bank - flat on top then sloping fairly steeply.
