North Quay - Newhaven - 11.5.2013 - postcard style

Newhaven is a small industrial enclave surrounded by the South Downs National Park. Here we see one of its two main industrial quays. There are two ferry berths, one currently unused, a marina, the RNLI station, six or seven fishing boat jetties and, to the left of this view, round the other side of Denton Island, several boat yards. There are several industrial and trading estates around the harbour area, containing warehouse, manufacturing and retail facilities. The rounded building with the two tall vent pipes is the refuse incinerator.
