The Holy family Southwark Cathedral

The statue actually sits on top of its plinth. They were separated to conform to the landscape format of the series and to accentuate the figures, whose features seemed to be diminished by the perspective of a tall ensemble. My, doesn't that sound pompous - I just thought they looked better like this!
It was originally on a wooden plinth inside the cathedral. When it was moved outside the sculptor disapproved and particularly disliked the 'over-sized lettering' on the new stone plinth.
