Here they come !

- of yesterday, Feb 9, 2019 - sunshine and upper 40 degrees F and windy - Daffs always bloom early here in North Carolina - they have been known to pop up through the snow - weather doesn't seem to bother them too much 4 PiP across top - .. 48 deg F is about the norm in Feb, but today it is colder and I'm not headed out the door unless there is something really important that won't last til tomorrow [ not that it'll be any warmer ] -- .. but, The Daff Gals are always a bright sign ~ © All rights reserved

- not yet

- as of Feb 7, 2019 - it is still not Spring for 41 days - but, today the temperature was in the 80s - almost like Florida weather, but without the humidity - temperature will go down - and down as the norm for this time of year in North Carolina - but, until it does - it will be enjoyed [ can you imagine having ceiling fans on in February ? ] - well, they are ! - this photo of Daffs-to-be are surrounded by various stages of Arrowroot - most will get pulled up, but the birds are enjoying what can be found under it all 3 PiP across the top © All rights reserved

- always a bit different

- the tree is the same - used it as a Seasonal Tree this year - instead of packing it up and hauling it out again - will certainly do again next year - most ornaments are hand-made [not by me] - but, I did collect the seashells and Sand Dollars - cracked open the Walnuts .. matching the halves, then gilding them - any needle-work done by other hands - if you look closely, there are some old fashioned shade pulls - guess my Mom had them - now, the tree skirt [ with a white feather that fell ] - ankle length skirt ..green/white satin embroidered with glitz located in Florida at a Mosque Thrift Store - red with coins on top of it is a belly dancer hip belt - the more glitz and jingle the better [ at least that is what our Dance Troupe thought ] 3 PiP - the collage on the right side has up close photos of the ornaments - © All Rights Reserved -- EXPLORE --

And it came down ...

What does one do when it snows? Take photos through the windows ~ Sometimes they turn out fine ~ Others -- horrid ~ But these are about the best for yesterday as it fell ~ We ended with 12 inches ~ This morning [ Dec 10, 2018 ] ~ It was still snowing big fat flakes ~ Somewhere in between ~ Either freezing rain and / or sleet has fallen ~ The road in front of our home is as slick as a skating rink ~ Not see one vehicle as of this post [ 10:55am EST ] We won't be out there ~ No reason for it ~ Nobody has shoveled drive or sidewalks either ~ Usually by now -- somebody has ~ As a local meteorologist said, " That is heart attack snow " ~ Send us some warm breezes to melt what is on the roads, please ~ If you can spare some ~ Thanks, Peggy [ so far, we still have power ] © All Rights Reserved Each photo has a note (PiP) in the upper Left corner -- EXPLORE
