Fitting Veteran's Day capture! If we're human, probably not! :( Stay well!

Thank you, William .... guess it is just a dream of mine that we can actually be kind to each other and not see killing / war as an answer to disagreements.

Have always thought if a country wishes to go to war .. the ' leaders of said country ' should go to war --- not our young men and women.

I'm a soldier, a Finnish soldier. Retired from active duties three decades ago, but continued to serve my country as reservist. My father was there, in the War, not in the Winter War but in the Continuation War. Finland was the only country having war against Soviet Union who survived. It was David and Goliath. Four million people against 120 million.

When I went to the army, I never thought I'd stay there longer than that compulsory 11 months. I stayed for 12 years. I never fought anywhere. Spent half a year in Lebanon in UN peacekeeping troops as an Intelligence officer. Saw horrible things. Saved a 10-years old girl from a mine field, was injured in a terrorist bomb explosion. Was sent back to Finland with a medal.

We have these heroes' cemeteries all around this country. I always take my hat off at these places.
