And it came down ...

And it came down ...
What does one do when it snows?
Take photos through the windows ~
Sometimes they turn out fine ~
Others -- horrid ~
But these are about the best for yesterday as it fell ~

We ended with 12 inches ~
This morning [ Dec 10, 2018 ] ~
It was still snowing big fat flakes ~
Somewhere in between ~
Either freezing rain and / or sleet has fallen ~

The road in front of our home is as slick as a skating rink ~
Not see one vehicle as of this post [ 10:55am EST ]

We won't be out there ~
No reason for it ~
Nobody has shoveled drive or sidewalks either ~
Usually by now -- somebody has ~
As a local meteorologist said, " That is heart attack snow " ~

Send us some warm breezes to melt what is on the roads, please ~
If you can spare some ~

We are fine [ as of 6:13pm EST ] ---
Just realized today that this storm was named 'Diego' ..
Weather patterns are fascinating in North Carolina ..
Between my town and the next one over ... there is a place where two roads join from either town -- on the other side .. they got 15 inches -
on our side .. got 12 inches [ plus the little that fell today ] ..

Oh, how tempting it was to make a Snow Angel and a Snow Bear .. but, was too warm to go out !

A fine collage but so BRRRRR!
No snow in Madrid so far and not freezing cold yet but it will become so very soon. Friends in England who only know Spain from the costas are amazed to hear that Madrid is generally colder than London in winter! (It has a continental climate, being so far frpom a coast and is on a high plateau - in fact it is Europe's highrst capital city)

... iconic Wintertime collage ... my favorite is the bottom-center vignette of the snowy fence-corner, an artful shot; nice components in there ...

... and the one with Old Glory is nice: a "pop" of color against the graytone (plus, I am a partisan of the Stars-and-Stripes) ...
