Ambush bug (Phymata americana) Collage
I had never seen one of these till this moment. I was looking over the flowers... looking for something to film...and "something wasnt right" about the centre of this flower... and there the murderer was !
They wait for some unsuspecting butterfly or wasp or bee or anything (!!) to land.. and with their front legs/claspers grab it... bite it.. and suck the life out of it !
And yes... I did remove it after its 5 minutes of glory.. No ....I didnt kill it.. it just went "walkies" in my neighbours 15 acre jungle !

tiabunna club has replied to Pam J clubPam J club has replied to tiabunna clubWhat is interesting is that everyone has a different angle on it. It IS a commitment... and at the beginning was daunting.. but now... how did it get to be October !! The hard months are to come.
I will possibly upload it when its done if my connection will stand the strain !
