héron vert / green heron

Excellent portrait. I am surprised to see one of these so far north. I saw one on the opposite side of my pond today, but it was too far away to get a decent photo.

they are relatively common here but this young one gave us a great opprtunity for pictures. In fact, there were three of them. We were about ten photographers that morning. But yesterday, we had something else coming from the south, hurricane Debby and a lot of rain.
