IMG 6451-001-Viaduct Bridge
The bridge overlooking Viaduct Pond was built between 1844 and 1847 by Sir Thomas Maryon Wilson, who owned a chunk of Hampstead Heath at the time. His plan was to open a housing development of grand villas and have the viaduct bridge as its approach. Fortunately for the rest of us, legislation was passed to preserve the Heath as open space and the villas weren't built, but this lovely bridge remains. The architect was Joseph Gwilt. It's Grade II listed.

I zoomed in on that blue bit as much as I could, but I'm still not sure what it is. Definitely too small to be a boat. Probably a water quality monitoring device of some sort.

Funny, I was sure it was a kayaker! But I see what you mean.

Wonderful view and reflections! The canoeist is a fine size reference.

Not a canoeist, Dimas. If it was, the viaduct would be enormous! See previous comments -- I think the blue thing is a water quality monitoriing device.
