Springfield Amtrak Station

I was in Springfield in the '70s but we arrived by Greyhound not by train...

Bus station is 2 blocks away from the train station. It looks pretty much the same as it did in the 70s when I used to change there for the bus to Northampton.

What were you doing in Springfield?

Visiting friends we had made while working in a hotel in New Hampshire earlier in the summer - Sugar Hill. Sunset Hill House - one of those big resort hotels that became defunct and later mysteriously burnt down in the middle of winter when all the water was frozen so there was no chance of putting the fire out...
Their father was a doctor and had a brick house which I remember being unusual as most were wood built. We spent a few days driving around in their mother's merc and skinny dipping in their parents' pool. Carol and Robbie Crawford. Would be odd if you knew them but you probably don't. Have lost touch with them now. Happy days!
