Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to CajeraMerci!
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to ThorstenI think that I am not comfortable with colors lately... ;)
Yes, a yellow filter would be nice here but it's tricky to use filters on the XA.
I often heold a fiter directly on the lens and compensate with the ISO setting.
Others went the way with a Wratten gel filter directly in the filmgate and they had good results.
Tried it but wasn't impressed - you can't do this when film is loaded.
I once saw an -DIY- attachment mounted on the tripod socket, that uses Cokin rectangular filter holders and covers lens and metering sensor.
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to Rupert HedgehogI had a good set of Cokin filters and was so clumsy when using it that I finally get rid of them (sold to a friend who was able to make good use of the set).
So the only option for me with XA is to hold a filter in front of the lens. If I have one with me... ;)
Thank you!
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to Boarischa Krautmo clubThanks!
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to BillathonObviously I took several other shots in typical landscape layout too :)
I'll show them later.
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to BillathonClouds and/or something on foreground gets more attention on vertical compositions. And I would still call them as landscape shots.
But even as a "negative space" sky or foreground can give "space to breath" on such composition, and turn out much more interesting than a horizontal composition.
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… clubIf I had one I would have everything I need "on me" ;)
But I cannot find anything ready to buy fitting my... err... very female shape ;)

The most innovative but also more permanent for the "whole filming session" is the first. Filter attached inside the film compartment! =O
Although, my solution still would be Polaroid sun glasses. They are easy to carry around as a headgear =D
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… clubBut the "whole filming session" is not for me as it happens that it takes me several months to finish a negative loaded into my XA ;/
Polaroid sunglasses appeal to me more... I'll ask my optician if he can provide me with a clip-on sunglasses matching my regular ones :)
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Marta Wojtkowska clubWhat comes to polaroid sun glasses, then there of course are several problems like reflections, most of the time dirty lenses, and troubles to hold them in right position on front of the lens. On modern digital camera it is not a so big problem because one can see the effect on display. But with analog camera it is not possible.
