Fünf Jahre Elbphilharmonie

Am 11. Januar 2017 wurde die Elbphilharmonie nach mehr als 10 Jahren Bauzeit und einer Verzehnfachung der geplanten Kosten auf fast 800 Millionen Euro feierlich eröffnet. Bis dahin ein Skandal und eine Lachnummer mit Baustopp und Streitereien zwischen den beteiligten Firmen und dem Auftraggeber. Mittlerweile ist das alles vergessen, die Elphi, wie die Hamburger sie liebevoll nennen, hat es in die Herzen der Menschen geschafft und ist neben dem Michel zum Wahrzeichen der Stadt und touristischer Attraktion geworden. Die meist großartig besetzten Konzerte sind fast immer ausverkauft und finden in einem architektonisch außergewöhnlichen Konzerthaus mit Weltgeltung statt.

Five years Elbphilharmonie

On January 11th, 2017, the Elbphilharmonie was ceremoniously opened after more than 10 years of construction and a tenfold increase in the planned costs to almost 800 million euros. Until then, it was a scandal and a laughing stock with a two-year construction stop and disputes between the companies and clients involved. As of today, all that has been forgotten; the Elphi, as Hamburgers affectionately call it, has made it into people's hearts and, along with the Michel (St. Michaelis Church), has become another city landmark and a tourist attraction. The concerts, which are usually performed by great musicians, are almost always sold out and take place in an architecturally extraordinary concert hall with international recognition.
