Madonna Nursing the Christ Child
The Master of the Magdalene Legend, whose identity remains unknown, has been recognized through his pleasing images of the Madonna and Child and his portraits. The small scale of this work, the delicate visage of the Madonna, and the tender interaction between mother and child were appealing characteristics in private devotional works.
