Silver gelatin print from a 8 x 10" silver gelatin paper negative. Taken with an 1880ish 26" Berthiot in a Black Art 14 x 14 Tailboard camera. I taped paper to glass in a wet plate holder. Print on Kodak Medium Weight Projection 84 paper. Well expired. Developed in Ilford Multigrade 1 : 25. Exposed for 2mins in darkroom. Scanned print.

Thank you. I love taking photos of people, especially old school styles.......need to develop this more as a plan...paint some back drops......I have done a few weddings in my life and I loved that I could take photos of people and it was all okay to do, thats what you were there for. The artifact in this image though unfortunate works...I think it was the paper being a long time in its box and hab been sticking to the other sheets......paper negs after this didnt have it.......or I could have screwed up in some other way......LOL. thanks for seeing my images.

I love the faces, the postures, the craziness of the lighting and streaks, the fact that there's a banjo! I've never done a paper negative. You worked hard to achieve this photo - it is excellent.

thank you again..kind words. these are awesome people......good friends.
paper negs are fun......and over 10 years or more they have taught me lots......i love how you can use them in any camera.......and banjo.....I am finding it difficult to be a made analogue person and a mad banjo player at the same time........:-)

If you were to offer to photograph weddings in this way you could make serious money. So evocative, so full of character. Just a touch of Walker Evans in there. A photograph that really sticks in the mind...as well as to the other sheets.
