Blue Dice
For the Macro Dreams Challenge Group's latest challenge............Blue.
Also in the following previous challenges: Three, Geometric, Multiple,
Have a good new week everyone and thank you to all who visited my photostream over the past week and left a star and/or a comment. Always appreciated.
Fern
From a dying fern in my garden.........photographed indoors in natural window light using a bit of green card as a background. Even in this deteriorating condition, I still think it's quite lovely.........and I like the symmetry as well.
Meet the Twins
Not quite identical, but pretty close........and yes, this was the result of another raid on my wife's sewing cabinet.........it's like a treasure chest and I can't resist poking around in it :-)))
Thank you to everyone who has visited my photo-stream over the past week for so, especially if you've left me a yellow star and/or a comment. It's always appreciated and makes sharing worthwhile.
Have an enjoyable weekend y'all..............keep warm and stay safe..!!
Cutting and Slicing
Taken for the latest challenge in the Macro Dreamns Challenges group: Cutting and Slicing.
A bit "outside the box" but I think it fits the challenge, the blade on the pencil sharper cuts the end of the pencil producing slices of wood.
Gold
An extra photo from me today.........this is is for the Macro Dreams Challenges group on the theme of Gold. Of course these are not real gold, they're buttons from my old Royal Navy uniform jacket.
They should also fit into the following previous challenges: Metal, Circles or Curves, button,
Inside a Light Bulb
Taken for the latest challenge in the Macro Dreams Challenges group: Theme Electric Bulb.
It also fits the following previous challenges: Circles or Curves, The inside of something, Glass,
I dropped the bulb whilst taking the photo and the filaments inside have broken, so now it doesn't work :-(
Life on a House Brick (+PiPs)
I spotted this old house brick on top of a storage bin in my garden and saw the tiny pieces of moss growing on it (only a few millimetres tall). Some pieces had spider's webs too, which I didn't notice until I got the photos on my computer.
I took the brick indoors and took several photos. I had to be quick before my wife realised what I was doing on the table top (to be fair, the brick was a bit dirty). :-)))
There are three more views in the PiPs, if you have time to look. Thank you.
Honeycomb (with chocolate and popping candy)!
Spotted this in a shop yesterday in amongst some items that were being sold off cheaply after Christmas, so I bought some for photographic purposes only ;-))
It is grey, damp and miserable here at the moment, so tabletop photography is the way to go!
Bottle of Milk
...........and as they saying goes, "it's no use crying over spilt milk" ;-))
A extra one from me today primarily for the Macro Dreams Challenge group, on the theme Bottle of Milk.
Would also fit into the following previous challenges: End on, Black and White, Glass Circles or Curves.
I used a "mini" milk bottle for the shot, so this is about twice life size.
Stinking Iris Berries
The Stinking Iris plant gets its name from the faint smell of rotten meat which you get if you rub
the leaves together . The berries are toxic to a lot of mammals including dogs and humans.
If left, the berries will stay on the plant all through winter. I'm trying to eradicate them from the garden so I dig up the plants as soon as I find them. I obviously missed this one :-)
Ordnance Survey Map???
You've probably guessed that this is not a map..........it's actually the skeletal remains of a leaf I found in the road near my house. I took it indoors and dried it out, then photographed it on top of an LED light panel. Finally I converted the image to black and white. I think it's turned out OK.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
What is it??
No prizes I'm afraid........just for fun :-))
If no one guesses correctly by around 4pm (GMT), I'll give the answer then.
This will also fit in the Macro Dreams Challenge group in the following categories: Patterns, Gold, Something Rough, Guess What.
Edit: See the answer in the comments below.
Broken Oat Biscuits
Posted for the Macro Dreams Challenges Group, Theme: Broken, Cracked or Torn.
It also fits in the previous challenges: Biscuits, Something Rough.
Thanks for looking.........and before you ask, I ate the lot afterwards with a nice cup of tea (after all you can't put all those bits back in the biscuit tin, can you?).
Hyacinth
I had to wait in this afternoon for a promised call-back from our Doctor's surgery, so I decided to get stuck in with some more tabletop photography. This was a survivor from a bunch of flowers my wife had in a vase.
Natural light from the window, a bit of card as a background and focus-stacked in camera.
Didn't get the call-back............no surprise there :-(
Ice Cream
This is posted for the Macro Dreams Challenges Group latest theme: My Favourite Winter Dessert.
To be fair ice-cream is my favourite dessert all year round, not just in winter. This particular one is called Viennetta, a shop-bought ice vanilla ice cream with chocolate and mint layers. Yummy!
It also fits the previous challenges: Chocolate, Green, Something Frozen, Multi Coloured, Five or more.
Reels of Ribbon
I took these back in November last year, following another raid on my wife's sewing cabinet. The wooden reels are very tactile. These are pretty much life size.
Macarons and Sugar Sprinkles
A bit of tabletop photography in the warm yestertday. As always, a bit of card as a background, the "plate" is a slice of wood and the macarons were shop bought, as were the sugar sprinkles. Natural light from the window, with a bit of help from an LED panel. I used a tripod as well.
Bananagrams
Bananagrams is a game involving arranging one's tiles into a grid of connected words faster than one's opponents. The object of the game is to be the first to complete a word grid after the pool of tiles has been exhausted. (Further details of the game are at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bananagrams if you're interested.
Posted for the Macro Dreams Challenges group, for the theme: Games and Puzzles.
