Bee on Forget-me-nots

Bee on Forget-me-nots
Taken in my garden.

I would love to know what type of bee this is. I've been searching for ages without success, so if anyone knows please tell me..!!

Better viewed large..........thank you.

It's a fabulous shot Keith. Your focusing is superb and the bee shows up beautifully against the gorgeous bokeh background. I am no bee expert, as there are so many, but my first thought was Red Mason bee, as it must be quite small, but it doesn't seem red enough. I had a quick look at an identifying page and the Sweat bee looked a possibility, but maybe this one is not big enough to be that. I'm sure an expert will put you right in due course :-))

It really is such a beautiful picture Keith. Have a good weekend....there might even be a sunny day :-))

Thank you Rosa...........I'm always pleased when you like one of my images and as always your kind comments are much appreciated.

Thanks also for your efforts at trying to find an ID. I've looked at photos of both species you suggested, but they just don't seem to fit. It will probably remain a mystery :-). Hopefully I'll see another in the garden and be able to get a closer shot.

The weekend is looking good..........I hope you'll enjoy yours too. Sun would be good, but I'll be happy if it doesn't rain!

This looks exactly like the bee/wasp that's been flying around here the last couple of days. He just doesn't seem to want to go outside. This is a great picture, especially the detail of the forget-me-not. I hope you have a great weekend

Eine wunderbare Aufnahme mit schönen Pastellfarben! Gemessen an der Größe der Blüten muss die Wildbiene sehr klein sein.

You'e right about the bee being small, it took me a few shots to get a decent photo! Glad you like this one and thanks for dropping in.
