Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium)

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium)
Feverfew in a bottle. Taken indoors on my table top using flash and a sheet of textured card as a background.

There are two PiPs. The first one shows the same little flowers without the bottle using a different coloured card background, also taken on my tabletop using flash.

The second one shows the feverfew flowers en-masse, in my garden.

Thanks for looking. I hope you all have a great Friday and a super weekend :-)

The colour combination of the background and the jar make the flowers really zing and says look at me, I'm the star of the show, a beautifully set up image.
A superb set of tack sharp and impressive captures, Keith,

A very attractive set Keith. I like them all equally! Your main picture with the opaque glass bottle is really lovely, and as Annemarie says, romantic!
Your first PiP with the green backdrop shows the white petals up beautifully. Looking very different to the main shot.
Your 2nd PiP showing the feverfew in your garden is gorgeous, and beautifully focused with the almost bokeh, out of focus flowers in the background setting the picture perfectly.

Have a good weekend. With the weather forecast I expect table top photography is the best option :-)

Lovely photol
Why is it called Feverfew?
This is what I found:
Feverfew is promoted for fevers, headaches, and arthritis; topically (applied to the skin), it's promoted for toothache and as an antiseptic and insecticide. Feverfew has been called “medieval aspirin” or “aspirin of the 18th century.”
Use the dried leaves and flowers to make a tea to prevent headaches. The tea can also be cooled and applied to the skin as an insect repellent, or used on pets as a natural flea rinse – provided, of course, that you're not allergic or sensitive to it.

BUT:In some cases, feverfew may cause side effects like stomach aches, heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, dizziness, tiredness, and menstrual changes

Hi Eva. The name stems from the Latin word febrifugia, “fever reducer"........ apparently.

You've found a lot of interesting information about it.........most of which I knew, but I would never risk using it myself for anything. I just think they're beautiful in the garden. You have to watch them though because they spread very fast and can easily overpower other plants.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting.
