Stormy Skies.........
.........over Portsmouth Harbour. Taken from Portsdown Hill yesterday afternoon. The wind was so strong I could barely stand upright!
It didn't take much to convert this to B/W. Best viewed large, on black. Thank you.

Excuse the interruption to your amazing picture, we'll get back to it, I promise! :D
OMG that MOVIE! I haven't watched "The Birds" in I don't know how many years but that's such a crazy scene. So interesting that they chose odd sound-effects instead of a crow's cry for the noises, but it makes sense given the incredible volume those birds put out...sound effects can be modulated to be a consistent, even tone and a crow's cry is very intense and not consistent. Makes me wonder how they would handle this today. Interesting. In any event, thank you for prompting to find that clip to share...I know they're crows, not seagulls but seeing your picture totally brought the memory of "The Birds" into my mind! BTW, Bodega Bay was where this movie was filmed, and I've been to the area several times, as it's not far from San Francisco! :)
Ok, back to our regularly scheduled show...starring...YOU! :D
WHAT a picture. I seriously don't think I've ever seen anything like it! Your timing couldn't have been better. LOVE the birds flying overhead with the one in the foreground looking so cool. And naturally, a highlight is the incredible light shining down over the water. Those RAYS!! OMG KEITH, you lucky stinker. :D I also love the vast expansive view, which invites a long stare. Your choice to make this a b/w was perfect. There is an extra special quality to the silver tones and silhouettes and the edge-lit clouds.
Such a great picture. *hands you a Kewpie Doll* NICELY PLAYED SIR! :)
And of course, thank you very much for your wonderful comments on my latest presentation! About your DYI skills...heh...you and I are in the same league! It never fails to amaze me how capable Steve is. The terrible shame is that he missed his calling...Steve is a mastermind (not kidding) and would have made an incredible engineer. The way his brain works leaves me staggered. He did, however, get to do special effects in the movie industry for a time and left his mark (responsible for Terminator II's Special Effects Academy Award) before backing away from the industry's life-eating nature and moving to the SF Bay Area where we would eventually meet years later. Heh, I digress! :D
Have a lovely day my friend, and keep up those mind-bending pictures! *high five*
