Pompey Against Plastic Trash (2)

Pompey Against Plastic Trash (2)
A close up shot of the Treadgold Fish - featured yesterday - showing just some of the plastic waste inside it.

This fish-shaped sculpture by Pete Codling,(based on Portsmouth's star and crescent motif), is known as the Treadgold Fish and has been made from scrap metal from Treadgold's, a scrap metal merchants in Portsea. It is travelling round the city collecting plastic bottles as part of the War on Plastic. I think it's amazing. As of yesterday it was situated on Southsea Common.

Please view large, on black. Thank you.

We can't win that war unless we stop making the darned things! But, I do like this shot and notice the little fish-shaped parts connecting everything.

Good close-up Keith. I agree with Diane...have to stop making them. Didn't milk used to come in cartons as well as glass bottles!? I also saw take away trays made from potatoes years ago, but because they were brown and not white, they didn't seem to be very popular! Time to promote them again.

Have a good new week Keith.

Thanks for all your comments folks................we (the human race) really need to get our combined act together..........but sadly, I can't see it happening any time soon..!!

I get a monthly magazine sent to me and the protective envelope is now made from potato starch, so it's biodegradable............but, when it arrives it's always stuffed with half a dozen advertising leaflets and other rubbish.........more waste to be recycled..!!

The plastic trash behind the lattice looks like an artwork. But it's so sad that so much plastic trash pollutes our oceans and our landscapes.
