The mobbing goldfinches are back
This morning, in the first serious bit of (wet) snow, I put out the feeder again. The goldfinches had been scouting around earlier in the morning, and yesterday, stopping where our feeder had been last winter, until I took it down in the spring. Obviously they knew their way around.
I filled it, and had it hung up about a half-hour when I looked and saw a dozen goldfinches. This one was off to one side, waiting her (his?) turn.
