Water-doctor dancing

Water-doctor dancing
You can't see the water-doctor very well, but you can see his dance, dancing up circles in the water. He kept dong this over and over. I couldn't hear the music he was dancing to.

You *probably* don't call them water-doctors since they have a lot of other names, but that's what my father called them nearly sixty-five years ago when he showed them to me. And that's the most common name in these parts.

I don't know if this particular species of Gerridae has wings; they certainly don't need them when crossing still water. Some people apparently call them Jesus bugs because they walk on water. I don't know any of those people.

Sylvain Wiart, Annalia S., Spo have particularly liked this photo
