Northerly moonrise
The moon had been up a half hour or more when I took this picture just
after sunset today. Today being the northern hemisphere's winter solstice,
the sunset was pretty well the most southerly sunset. The Full Moon is
actually a day or two away but, as a result of being nearly full, the moon
was nearly opposite the sun, so it rose pretty close to its most northerly
point. I didn't have a compass with me, but looking at the map, I'd say
the moon rose just north of NE.
