Michigan Audubon's Bernard Baker Sanctuary.
The pond's over-represented in this set. I always shoot lots of pix at the pond.

Lake Superior, 2006, taken with my Minolta SR-T 101. My notes suggest I took this near Split Rock lighthouse, but I can't be much more specific than that.

Lake Odessa, Michigan.
Photo taken from the All Wars Chapel and Memorial on Jordan Lake, which is an interesting thing and worth a few minutes if you find yourself nearby.
To the extent I had a photo in mind when I set out this afternoon, it was "You should be able to get a good picture of something in Lake O."
Weary of Winter. Already.

Still sorting through old photographs. This one's from 2005.
What this photo doesn't capture is the incredible sound all these large birds make.

At Michigan's State Secondary [Governmental] Complex, near Dimondale. This is the most obvious remaining segment of the swamp the early white settlers called The Old Maid.

From Kiwanis Youth Area near Bellevue, Michigan. Photo taken during Michigan Audubon's CraneFest in October of 2004 with my Nikon N90s. Scanned from a negative.

At Big Marsh Lake from the Kiwanis Youth Conservation Area, near Bellevue, on 10/22/2005. Hundreds of cranes have already landed in the marsh; some can be seen in this photo (though not well; they're mostly along those broken trees).
Michigan Audubon's Cranefest occurs at Big Marsh early every October, but Audubon and Kiwanis open the viewing area on weekends throughout the month.
