In 1995 (I think), Joan and I vacationed in the District of Columbia and Wilmington, North Carolina. One of the NC days was spent at Wrightsville Beach. It was a very sunny, very hot day; I got badly burned and spent the rest of the vacation suffering.
The circular frame resulted from failing to inform my camera, a Chinon Genesis III, that I'd installed the lens extender. Never did it deliberately, but sometimes found that I'd accidentally produced something interesting. (And I did it often enough that it's a reliable indicator of the Chinon photo sets.)
