Triphora trianthophorus (Three-birds orchid)
A brief day trip to a couple of secluded locations in the Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, North Carolina. I used my daily temperature "technique" to predict this bloom cycle perfectly. It's about a 1.5 hour drive for me to get there, so I wanted to be reasonably sure they would be in bloom.
