An amarylis just starting to grow

An amarylis just starting to grow
Soon it should flower bright red blooms. It was just a bulb in the pot for many months, and then suddenly last week it starting to shoot greenery. Yes I have a busy kitchen window sill considering it's a small one!!!

Oh isn't that exciting! I have only seen these flowers available for Christmas but of course those are forced into bloom. How nice that this one can bloom when "it bloody well wants to"! :D

Thanks so much for your bubbling comments on my Scarlet Fritillary, Jenny! I am glad that I can make my words descriptive enough to take you along with me to enjoy the discovery! I wish that you were able to get around better but if I can give you the adventure you seek, well then you need to just buckle up and enjoy the ride! I'll do my best to keep you entertained! :)

Yes I much prefer to let these flowers bloom as and when they want to - when it's natural to them. I have another amarylis which has also just started to sprout, but that's on the kitchen table. That bloom is all red, and if I remember correctly the one on the kitchen window sill is red and white. I'll find out when it flowers.

Yes I wish I could get around much better than I can, but as you say - I'll just buckle up and enjoy the ride with you and Steve. Your words are certainly descriptive enough for us to feel as you do when you discover things - the birds singing, the frogs, and the beauty surrounding you - I feel I am there with you. Keep it up sweetie xx
