Unusually warm temperatures have been eating away at the ice on the lakes and ponds this past week. By the end of the day, the lake was wide open. I don't think I've ever seen Wentworth open up as quickly as it did this year. Ice out on the big lake, Winnipesaukee, was declared Friday the 23rd of March, the earliest on record.
