Tradition - Nazaré

On the Big Waves playground, tradition.
At the top of the escarpment of the promontory of Nazaré, the first construction was the chapel erected on the initiative of D. Fuas Roupinho in 1182, over a cave where, after the Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula, the image of Our Lady of Nazaré was hidden. This initiative is linked to the episode of the Legend of Nazaré.
