The Citadel of Cascais is a fortress located in the current parish of Cascais and Estoril, in the town and municipality of Cascais, in the district of Lisbon, in Portugal.
On the right bank of the Tagus River, it is a fortified complex that comprises:
• the Fort of Nossa Senhora da Luz de Cascais,
• the Tower of Santo António de Cascais and
• Cascais Citadel Palace
The site's primitive fortification dates back to a late medieval tower, begun under the reign of João II of Portugal (1481-1495).

J. Gafarot club has replied to LotharW clubIt is good to know that you know these things around here.
You said so some months ago but I didn´t specifically made any remark.
I was born well 80 km away from here in a fishermans and sailors village on the other side of the Tagus, many, too many years ago; I only knew it from sailing when I was a boy.
Young one enchanted to be were the ocean beguins.
Enjoy a very nice week and keep your good mood in your beautiful country that I knew for some 12 years of my life when I worked in Switzerland; it made me fall in love with Berlin.
